2025 MINISTRY EXAM PREPARATION

Exam Information
Exam Dates
The mandatory Secondary 2 French Ministry Exam for 2025 will take place between May 14 and May 31.
Preparation activities will begin as early as May 1.
Objectives
During the French exam, your child will be asked to write a descriptive-justificatory text of approximately 300 words.
Marks will be awarded based on your child’s ability to adapt to the communication context, structure their ideas clearly and coherently, and use precise, appropriate vocabulary. Evaluators will also assess sentence construction, punctuation, and the correct use of both usage and grammatical spelling.
Permitted Materials
On exam day, students are allowed to use the following materials:
- Exam note booklet
- Any standard or specialized French monolingual dictionary
- Grammar guides or grammar textbooks
- Conjugation references
