Why become a tutor?

To take on this multifaceted challenge, we are looking for tutors who meet the following criteria:

• Be available for a minimum of 4 hours per week until June;
• Have no criminal record directly related to the position;
• Have previous work or volunteer experience with children or teenagers;
• Reside in Canada and have a Canadian bank account;
• Have completed a minimum of 12 university credits.

All of these criteria are mandatory.

We recruit throughout Quebec! Succès Scolaire supports students from all regions. If your profile meets our requirements, we will have tutoring assignments to offer you!

Succès Scolaire offers services to students at the preschool, elementary, secondary, and college levels. You are free to offer your services at the levels and in the subjects that interest you.

Tutor compensation varies depending on the assignment, your experience, and the client's location. The hourly rate starts at $20 per hour and increases based on the number of hours completed.

Succès Scolaire offers its services exclusively online.

As a self-employed tutor, Succès Scolaire does not provide equipment. To provide high-quality service, you must have the following:

• Computer
• Excellent Internet connection
• Headset with a built-in microphone
• Webcam
• Quiet and suitable environment for concentration
• Recommended: Tablet

The tutors we work with are not employees of Succès Scolaire. We assign them contracts, and they work as self-employed individuals.

Being self-employed means that tutors have flexibility when it comes to their schedules. We do not impose a fixed schedule and provide a certain degree of flexibility.

The main difference between being self-employed and being an employee is that no income tax is deducted at source. You should therefore plan ahead for the possibility of having to pay taxes at the end of the fiscal year and set aside funds accordingly.
